You know an accident isn’t your fault if...
...it happened because of somebody else’s negligence. This could be a road traffic accident where a driver had pulled out in front of you at a junction or hit the back of your car. It could also be where an organisation such as an employer, retailer or council or an individual may not have taken reasonable steps to ensure your safety and neglected their duty of care to you. Of course, sometimes it’s tricky to work out whether you have a claim and who’s to blame. With us on your side (hyperlink to about us), we can refer you to a firm of solicitors who can advise you who’s at fault.
The time a claim takes....
...depends upon the circumstances of your case. A straightforward road traffic accident can be settled within months. More serious injuries may take longer. With us on your side (hyperlink to about us), we can refer you to a firm of solicitors who’ll investigate if you have a valid claim and tell you how long it could take to settle.
You’ll have to attend a medical if...
...the firm of solicitors we refer you to think it’s appropriate. They’ll organise a medical examination with an independent doctor near to where you live. You could claim back travel expenses as part of your compensation.
If your accident happened a long time ago...
... there’s a time limit in which you must make a claim. In most cases you have 3 years (longer if you were under 18 at the time of the incident) from the date of your accident to make a claim, settle and/or issue court proceedings. If you don’t follow these rules you may not be able to make a claim in accordance with the Limitation Act 1980.
With us on your side (hyperlink to about us), we could refer you to a firm of solicitors who can advise quickly you whether you have a valid claim.
If we cannot assist you we will let you know immediately, and you should seek further legal advice straightaway.
The level of compensation you can expect depends upon...
...the medical evidence and the circumstances surrounding your accident or injury. The solicitor we refer you to could estimate the value of your claim, after you’ve explained all your details to them.
